Places of Interest In and Around Dalhousie.

Subash Baoli

It is one of the most popular tourist spots of Dalhousie owing to the natural spectacle of the place and for the beautiful views of the snow capped peaks. The place is a popular picnic spot with its picturesque environs and pleasant climate. The view of snow covered mountain peaks at a distance lends the place a unique charm.

Satdhara

Satdhara or seven streams is a group of seven springs, situated at an altitude of 2036 mts on the way to Panjpulla. The water of the streams is said to contain medicinal properties capable of curing chronic diseases. The place also affords a commanding view of the surroundings.

Kalatope

Kalatope is another famed attraction situated just 5 km from Dalhousie at an altitude of 2438 mts above sea level.The place is housed amidst picturesque environs and consists of a beautiful palace, forest rest house and a wildlife sanctuary with attractions such as ibex, deer, bear and leopards.

Khajjiar

Khajjiar is often reffered to as "Gulmarg of Himachal Pradesh". The lush green meadows are surrounded by thick pine and cedar forests. Dalhousie is a beautiful tourist spot in the state of Himachal Pradesh. About 24 km from Dalhousie, is the picturesque plateau of Khajjiar, which is lovingly known as Mini-Switzerland.

Chamera Lake

This is the Reservoir of The Chamera Dam Built Over The River Ravi. Chamera Lake is An Artificial Lake Came Into Existence as a Consequence of Chamera Hydroelectric Project. The Dam Site is 36 Kms From Dalhousie And Located at a Height of approximately 892 Mtrs Above Sea Level.

Bhalai Mata

The temple of Bhader kali popularly known as sri Bhalei Mata is located on a beautiful squr of 3800 feet height at a place called Bhalei which is now a sub-tehsil headquarters. The temple is 35 kilometers from Dalhousie. The deity is in the front of an image of black stone of two feet height and is enshrined in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.

Chamba

Chamba is one of the popular excursion routes that take the tourist through the mountainous regions of Dalhousie to the city of Chamba. The city of Chamba is located at a distance of 56 kilometers from the hill town of Dalhousie.
Chamba is known as the ornamental jewel in the heart of the state.

Bharmour

Bharmour is Located in the Budhil valley at an altitude of 7000 feet above sea level, Bharmour is known for its picturesque beauty. Bharmour was the original capital of the state of Chamba. It has several ancient temples and monuments that reflect its erstwhile glory.The distance of Bharmour from Dalhousie is almost 112 Kilometers.

Manimahesh Lake

Manimahesh Lake is situated in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayan mountains of Himachal Pardesh, is a high altitude lake (el. 4080 m.).The Manimahesh Kailash peak that stands high close to the lake is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva.
